Chapter 45: Molly’s Surgery (3)
"Hi, Mr. Steve Adkins... I’m so glad you’d call me." Rose smiles happily. Finally, the company she wants to acquire is interested in her offer.
She continues, "But, I’m really sorry, Mr. Adkins, I can’t go to the capital. I have to stay in East City because my family is being treated at the hospital. Can we make a plan to meet next week?"
"I’m sorry for your family, Ms. Rose Wilson. Don’t worry, I’m currently in East City. I’m in town until tomorrow afternoon. So, if you are ready to meet me, call me anytime. I will come to you...."
Rose immediately set up an appointment with Steve Adkins this evening. The sooner she meets him, the better. She didn’t want to waste time. Worried that other investors’ proposals would attract his interest before her business proposal.
Evan, who had just finished his dinner, put the cutlery on the table. He looked at his girl opposite him.
"Who are you meeting with?" His voice sounds calm, but his heart does not.
He feels jealous looking at his girl smile widely when she talks to that person and her eyes. When she speaks with that person, her eyes beam like a firework emblazing the sky. It’s a sign of how thrilled she was with the challenge.
He tried to be calm so this girl wouldn’t notice that he was jealous.
"Evan..." Rose places her cellphone on the table and looks at Evan with her beaming-looking eyes. Evan felt tense, waiting for her words. "Do you know Steve Adkins? I mean, have you met him before this?" She continues her words.
