Chapter 24: Within One Week
Lin Yan felt awkward, hugging and calling a stranger her mother. It made her remember her own mother and till this day, she hated that woman.
"Do you know how I felt when Li Lingyun told me about your accident?"
Lin Yan was stunned when she saw tears from this woman eyes, she could see Shen Yi really mean a lot to her. She had once heard of Shen Mua story, of how she lost her daughter and adopted Shen Yi to fill that spot.
"Mum, I am fine, you do not need to worry about me."
"How can I not worry about you. Shen Yi, you and Li Lingyun have been married for three years, don’t you plan to accept him as your husband."
"Why should I? My only connection with Li Lingyun is Li Xiao and that will never change."
Shen Mua really wished that her daughter would change her mind, to her, Li Lingyun is a good man and he is the only one capable of protecting her from that crazy man.
"For now, I just want to focus my attention on Li Xiao. Even though I have broken up with Mu Chen, I still don’t see myself being in a romantic relationship with a man like Li Lingyun." Lin Yan said. She knew Shen Yi hated Li Lingyun, so at this moment she had to behave like Shen Yi and talk like her and be cold just like her but make it known that she was changing a little.
Shen Mua widen her eyes in surprised as she asked "You broke up with Mu Chen? Did you really break up with that man?"
Lin Yan could see Shen Mua excitement and said "Yes, I broke up with him. Though not looking for a romantic relationship with Li Lingyun, I wanted us to have a fresh start and the only way to do that was to break up my relationship with Mu Chen. I just want to focus on Li Xiao and give her the love I never gave her."
Lin Yan could see that Shen Mua was a good person and she loves Shen Yi a lot even though she is not her real daughter. She wondered how the woman would feel if she were to find out that her real daughter was dead.
