Chapter 71: Seduce Him
Ivy's outrage came immediately she heard that. "What?! A mistake? Who does this man think he is? Doesn't he know what it means for someone like you—who's gone through heartbreak and betrayal—to open yourself up like that? He's an idiot!"
"I just feel like a fool for even thinking it meant something to him....."
"He's the fool to think it was nothing. I mean why would he even kiss you if he didn't like you? Gosh, I just feel like giving him a knock on his head right now," Ivy said, furious now.
"I don't know what to do right now. I just..."
"I, for one, know what to do," Ivy cut in. "You know what? Give me his number. I need to call him right now and talk some sense into him. He's an idiot. A total jerk!" Ivy hissed, clearly annoyed.
Emma shook her head even though Ivy wasn't there to see her. "Stop, Ivy," Emma said quickly, her voice strained. "Hearing you say all that just makes it hurt worse. I've been thinking... maybe I should leave. Start over somewhere new. Get away from all of this. It's just too overwhelming and now that he doesn't like me, I think I shouldn't continue staying here," Emma said with a sigh, a memory of her telling herself she was going to fight for whatever she had with Alex coming to her head.
"Absolutely not," Ivy snapped. "You're not running away, Em. If you leave, it's like admitting defeat. No. Instead, you make him regret saying that to you."
Emma frowned, confused. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying you seduce him," Ivy said, her tone firm and unapologetic.
