Chapter 82 : who got chocolate
As the four girls, Sasha, Crysty, Linda, and Lyra, were busy lining up for the time-limited special Valentine cakes, Eiden and his group had already started eating. None of them were even remotely interested in those special cakes. It was not because they hated them, but because none of them had a sweet tooth in the first place. Petter looked at the long line and scoffed. He leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms as he said in a dismissive tone, "I ate one before, but it was just weirdly sweet and that is it. Why make so much fuss over that?"
Eiden glanced toward the crowd, silently agreeing with him, his expression showing the same lack of interest. Deuel, however, replied with a small shrug, "Well, apparently for girls, most of them have a sweet tooth, and they can differentiate a lot of sweet tastes. To them it is more than just sugar."
Harry tilted his head, finding the thought amusing. "Then they really are sweet experts," he said with a chuckle. "Because I can hardly differentiate between different types of sweetness. To me, they all taste the same. I can tell different flavors, sure, but different sweetness levels? Not happening." Before the topic could die, John suddenly interrupted. He leaned forward, waving a small cube of chocolate wrapped neatly in shiny paper with a mischievous smirk. "Hey guys, any of you got any chocolate?" His tone made it clear he was baiting for a reaction.
Petter immediately stopped eating, his forehead veins popping out as his eyes narrowed dangerously. "What are you implying?" he asked in a deep, threatening tone. Harry leaned toward the cube in John’s hand, pointing at it curiously. "You got one?" John just kept smirking. Deuel then casually slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out the exact same chocolate John had, holding it between his fingers like it was nothing special. "These were being distributed earlier," Deuel explained, smirking back. "She was practically giving them away, whether she knew the person or not."
The confident smirk on John’s face instantly vanished. Petter and Harry both burst into loud laughter. "You were trying to act high and mighty with a giveaway chocolate? Hahahah!" Petter roared, almost falling off his chair, while Harry slapped the table in amusement. John frowned, his pride clearly dented, while Eiden just smiled quietly, trying not to laugh out loud at the scene. After a moment, Harry managed to calm down enough to add, "Oh yeah, I heard Eiden got a chocolate from Linda. One of my friends told me."
Eiden froze mid-bite, his expression going completely blank. Inwardly he thought, When the ffck did this guy hear about that? Deuel glanced at him with genuine confusion, while Petter and John both went still, their earlier amusement replaced by curiosity. Petter scratched his cheek and said slowly, "But did not she reject Eiden? You must have heard it wrong." His tone was casual, but there was an awkward smile tugging at his lips. John quickly nodded in agreement, trying to play along.
Harry, however, was persistent. "My friend saw it personally, and he never lies about such things," he insisted firmly. John’s eye twitched while Petter’s smile faltered. Both of them turned their gaze back to Eiden, who remained stone-faced and just carried on eating without saying a word. He did not deny it, nor did he confirm it, simply sipping his juice like the conversation was not even happening. Deuel leaned in, clearly curious now. "Is that true?"
Eiden kept sipping from his glass in as if buying himself time, but before he could answer, Petter suddenly stood up and reached for his collar. "This son of a *****" Petter’s voice was sharp, but Deuel and Harry quickly stepped in, holding him back before he could grab Eiden. John just sat there, locking eyes with Eiden and smiling knowingly. "Explain," John demanded. Eiden finally set down his drink, looked at all three of them, and said flatly, "I did receive one."
