Harem Stealing System

Chapter 78: The folder

What the ffckk!?! What is this? Eiden’s eyes widened as he stared at the screen. The folder was unmistakably labeled with his name Eiden Mores and it sat right there, in the middle of Miss Mika’s personal PC directory. His heart skipped a beat, a chilling shiver climbing up his spine. Why is the project in her folder? Was she helping the professor check submissions? That might make some sense, but why would it be in her personal folder, not in any shared academic database? And more than that why were there documents with his school records, his academic performance, his club activities, even his middle school name ?

A creeping realization hit him like a brick.

Wait... if she has this much information on me, does that mean she knows my dad is Algir? Could it be that she’s trying to take revenge on his son for whatever mess happened between them? They did break up. Maybe she still harbors resentment. Maybe she’s plotting something subtle. Gulp.

Eiden’s throat tightened as he remembered all the uncanny moments the odd glances, the perfectly timed conversations, her sudden mood swings whenever his name came up. And then it hit him again.

Wait a sec... isn’t this exactly the kind of scene where I’m deep in thought, and then she suddenly appears behind me? He stiffened and glanced over his shoulder in panic.

Nothing. The room was empty. He exhaled sharply, heart thumping like a drumline in his ears. Wasting no time, he quickly shut the folder, deleted the recent file history, and made sure nothing else on the screen would hint at his intrusion. He left the PC as it was and bolted out of the office, careful not to leave any signs of his presence. The corridor outside felt unusually silent as he made his way down and disappeared into the crowd.

Roughly six minutes later, Miss Mika appeared outside her office. Her steps were calm, but there was an anxious sharpness in her eyes. She had originally planned to return a bit later, but it struck her just minutes ago she had never handed Sasha the key. With that realization, she hurried back, expecting to see Sasha waiting. But there was no sign of her.

Miss Mika furrowed her brows as she placed the key in the lock and turned it. Click. She paused. The door was already unlocked.

Her frown deepened. Pushing the door open, she stepped inside. Her sharp eyes scanned the room, landing on the stack of papers Sasha had left at the corner of the desk. Her mind started to piece things together. Did Sasha borrow a master key from another professor? Or had someone else been here?

Meanwhile, Eiden had already left campus and was walking aimlessly down the street, his mind spiraling in confusion. She’s spying on me? Or more like... gathering information? But why?
