Don: The Blood Chains

Chapter 5: Blood of the Cassians.

Olivia at that moment realized that she had really fucked up freeing him, because the prisoner she just released was being fucking pounded in the face... yeah, maybe it would have been better just to leave him in, where he doesn’t get hurt.

But not just that, she felt nothing toward him, but still, it meant something that her bosses and colleagues had said to her, that Joseph is dangerous to even be in the same room with... and now they were both captured and facing death.

She really fucked up coming alone, or moreover, the whole setup really worked... at least it would have been working if her phone was there, but no... it fell out when she was dragged out of the car, which meant she had no backup coming, at least not anywhere she was currently being held hostage.

The rumours were true... if Joseph is out, shit is going to happen.

"Bitch?" The woman asked. "I am Jelena Salvatore!" She shouted at Joseph as she hit him once more in the same spot... his nose.

His face was covered in blood, and his nose was like jelly just hanging there to decorate his face while the blood poured out. But as Olivia looked at him, she noticed something... that was unbelievable to her.

She, at least, was trained to counter torture or at least the pain that comes from it in a way that only agents knew how to do, like when pulling down the fingernail, or breaking fingers and things like that. She was prepped for it. But as she looked at Joseph, she realized that he was too... it seemed like he wasn’t feeling the pain. He looked fucked up, but she could tell that Joseph was good... like he didn’t look like somebody that was being tortured... more like somebody who was ready for it.

It was because... well, he wasn’t sane. Everybody knew it. Like, there is no way somebody came out of a concrete block after spending ten years in the darkness without having any mental issues. It was just impossible to do. There’s even research on this topic, people go insane, they develop disorders, depression, some people even went temporarily blind and got crazy... but he looked completely fine in a way that just made him look more insane with the fact that he can’t be innocent, he can’t be a morally right person.

No, she just realized that her own greed to get higher positions by freeing Joseph and showing her supervisors, bosses, even the Justice Minister and the JCA that he was actually misunderstood, an innocent person... was broken that exact moment when the fifth punch landed on his face... and for a millisecond, she saw his eyes and a faint, almost unnoticeable smirk on his face.

Yeah... the blood of the Cassians, the family that through all generations, through all of the bloodline, were always criminals. Not even a single one worked a legitimate job. They all killed, all tricked people, they were all... monsters.

And the most interesting of all it was the one Cassian that said no to it. The only fucking one in the bloodline that said "fuck no." Yeah... she realized that Cassian is worse than all of them together.

A true monster that they tossed into a black hole for a decade and now today, he was freed from there. The Cassian that actually had the choice to break the bloodline’s relentless bloodshed was turned into a true Cassian by his own family, without even them realizing how big of a mistake they made.
