"Master... did you foresee this?" asked the man kneeling before the one he called ’master.’
The younger man grinned. "Well, kind of. I figured those idiots wouldn’t be able to kill the Pope. That’s why I sent them to attack the convoy, wearing a similar attire and in the desert. Drakes should’ve finished the job, but... his holy ass got saved."
The spy smiled faintly. "Still, you got another pawn out of your way. The Pope revealed it was Cedric who sent the assassins after Hades. Now the King knows his ’innocent’ son isn’t so innocent."
The young master rose from the couch with a chuckle. "That old fool got his life saved, and in return, he trapped Cedric. This is all going better than I expected."
The grin on his face stretched wider.
One obstacle—removed.
One—powerless for now.
One—didn’t give a crap about power and position.
Now only one remained.
"Hades," he muttered. "...he’s a tough one."
The spy offered, "Wouldn’t he get out of the way once he challenges the Prince?"
