He said stubbornly, "So what if I dated anyone when I was young? I was young and promising. Why couldn’t I have a few admirers?"
"Bah," Yesmina said sarcastically, "suit yourself. Yvonne is my daughter. It’s none of your business who she likes to be with!"
"Hey!" Frank was angry seeing her going against him. "You are her mother. How can you be so irresponsible? What if one day she really falls into a trap? Do you want to watch her get hurt?"
"Well, you’re talking about Mr. Leinster, aren’t you?" Yesmina snorted. "I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him. He’s rich, capable, and handsome. He’s good to Yvonne, too. I like such a man. He’s much better than you when you were young."
Yesmina actually said that Zachary was better than him. This undoubtedly got on his nerves.
"What are you talking about? Is he as handsome as me? You like such a man? Let me tell you, he is 10 years older than Yvonne! An old man!"
Yvonne was rendered speechless.
Mr. Leinster was 10 years older than her, but he couldn’t be called an "old man", could he?
At least... sometimes he wasn’t at all.
