Matthias’s heart pounded with anticipation as he heard his wife mention his husband’s name. He desperately hoped his beloved wife would say it out loud. He was a little nervous, as his wife seemed to still be fond of her ex-fiancé lately. She always smiled happily whenever she spent time with him. Was that smile her wife displayed truly a smile of love? Moreover, even now, he and his wife still often misunderstand each other. He had always envied Ansel’s handsome, radiant face, and he had always held that envy within himself.
His wife suddenly touched his cheek, making it difficult to swallow. His arms were still wrapped around his wife’s curvy waist.
"Why do you ask when you already know the answer?" Victoria widened her happy smile, her right hand moving to feel her husband’s chest. "The name of my most beloved husband is Matthias Emerson."
Tears of joy streamed down his cheeks. Even though his wife had said it while drunk, he felt incredibly satisfied. Drunk people often express their feelings more honestly than sober. He hoped this wasn’t a dream. Hearing her declare her love aloud made him unable to contain his desire. His right hand slowly stroked her long hair.
"Do you seriously consider me as your most beloved husband?"
"Of course. Because you’re the only man who truly loves me."
"Then what about Ansel? Haven’t you loved him so much since the beginning that you find it hard to let him go?"
Victoria lowered her head for a moment. "I... like Ansel. He’s cared about me all this time."
"But why don’t you call Ansel your husband? Is it because you guys broke up?"
"For some reason, I couldn’t accept him as my husband, even though he truly loved me and treated me well. Especially when he proposed, I felt a bit lost. I couldn’t give him my love."
