Chapter 60: I Hate Myself
Matthias was still worried that his wife would suddenly collapse while playing the piano. He held his wife’s hand tightly and relied on his left hand to press the piano keys. Actually, he was curious why his wife suddenly loved him so much from last night until now. Besides, why his wife was so enthusiastic to hear the instrument he played. Matthias really felt deja vu because he used to play his wife’s favorite instrument on her birthday.
"By the way, why do you keep holding my hand?" Victoria protested, pouting her lips.
"Because I just want to hold your hand."
She let out a mischievous laugh while pinching her husband’s waist. "This is the first time I’ve heard your answer so stupid. I’m sure there’s a hidden reason why you suddenly want to hold my hand all the time."
"Okay, I’ll admit it now. I was worried that you would suddenly faint again. That’s why, just in case, I held your hand before you actually collapsed."
"I won’t faint this time. In fact, I really want to hear you play that instrument."
Matthias landed his lips on his wife’s forehead for a few seconds, then started playing with his fingers pressing the piano keys without looking at the notes. He played it with a happy mood because somehow he felt his wife was channeling her love energy. Since before playing the piano until now, his wife had been looking at him addicted, honestly making him a little awkward because he was still not used to it. However, on the other hand, he really liked that his wife was being so sweet today.
From Victoria’s side when she heard this instrument that was very beautiful played by her husband, her eyes filled with tears again. Actually, she deliberately urged her husband to play this instrument because she wanted to make sure of one thing. Last night she dreamed of her husband playing this instrument on her birthday a long time ago. In the dream, her memory suddenly returned and she could see it quite clearly that the man was her own husband. However, she actually doubted whether it was just a dream or whether it was really what happened like that.
Victoria didn’t want her husband to see her crying again. She wiped her wet eyelids for a moment, while leaning her head on his shoulder. If she matched everything she had seen so far, including her stepsister’s previous statement that Matthias had returned from America just to meet her again. Therefore, she was increasingly convinced that Matthias was her first love in her past.
