Chapter 29: Warning
Victoria kept her head down even though her husband was still holding her hand. If she thought about it more critically, she really didn’t deserve to marry Matthias in the first place. However, why did Matthias still keep eyeing her and forcing her to marry him now? If she were Matthias, she would be a little afraid to go against her parents’ wishes. Moreover, Amber was the perfect woman in his eyes, it was impossible for Matthias, a perfectionist CEO, not to be interested in a perfect and beautiful woman.
"Victoria, don’t say that. My mother has never approved of our relationship."
"If she doesn’t approve of our relationship, why should we keep it going?"
"But, I still want to maintain our relationship. Besides, we are still in a contract marriage. You can’t just cancel the contract all of a sudden."
Her head lifted slowly. "After our contract ends, will you still maintain our relationship?"
"Doesn’t this all depend on you too? If you truly love me, we can maintain our relationship. But, if you still don’t love me, I will return you to Ansel."
"Then, what about your mother’s message earlier? Will you obey her?"
"I won’t. I’ll just feel more uncomfortable if I treat Amber differently than usual. I just want to maintain our relationship as friends, not as lovers."
Victoria looked away again. Then, don’t disappoint me at Amber’s welcoming ceremony."
