Chapter 16: Trap
Victoria felt that there was something strange about this meeting. For her, it was impossible for Anton to ask her to meet just to talk about Matthias’ background because as far as she knew, Anton and Matthias’ relationship was not that close. So, what was the purpose of this meeting? In addition to discussing Matthias’ background, Anton also planned to apologize for messing up the previous proposal presentation.
If she saw Anton’s jerk personality all this time, of course she didn’t easily believe him actually. That’s why she was a little nervous when having dinner with Anton at a VIP restaurant that was only visited by certain people.
Victoria tried to hide her nervousness with a friendly smile. Actually, she was very sick of dealing with the jerk who almost ruined her career. Moreover, the jerk had not said a word. All the jerk did was pour champagne over and over again.
"So, what do you know about Matthias?"
Anton smiled sarcastically as he handed his enemy a glass of champagne. "If you want to hear about his bad attitude, you have to drink first."
Victoria laughed lightly while folding her arms. "Am I that stupid to listen to you?"
"Okay, then I won’t tell you."
Victoria was forced to follow Anton’s wishes. She drank the glass of champagne until not a single drop was left. "I’ve drunk."
Anton smiled sarcastically as he poured more champagne. "I once heard that Matthias was involved with a woman. But it seemed like it was just a rumor. Then, the woman suddenly left him and never came back."
