Chapter 4: Complicated Relationship
For the first time, Matthias shed tears when he learned the truth about his wife’s disappearance. His right hand repeatedly hit his chest as he stared at the document file regarding the accident his wife had two years ago. He deeply regretted holding a grudge against his wife even though she had gone through various obstacles in her life.
"I shouldn’t have scolded her earlier. I should have treated her better earlier."
The young man widened his eyes. "Wait a minute! Have you met Victoria? Didn’t you tell me yesterday that you only wanted to send her the marriage certificate?"
"Yes, I originally intended to lure her. But I didn’t expect to meet her last night at the hotel." Matthias clenched both of his fists tightly. "But, why has everyone been hiding Victoria all this time? Even her family never told me?"
"Have you forgotten what happened between your family and Victoria’s family all this time?"
"Yes, even now Victoria’s family is still asking for funds from my family. Actually I’m confused, what has Victoria’s family been doing all this time to keep asking for financial assistance."
"But, do you really want to persuade her to come back to you? It seems like it would be hard to see you as if you were rejected now."
"Anyway, I will use any means to make her obey my orders. I don’t want her to be involved in danger again. The fatal accident she experienced at that time was not an ordinary accident."
