Chapter 27: The Moon Goddess Must Be Out Of Her Damn Mind!
Iris’s POV
Lyra’s voice didn’t stop. She kept snarling, her words slicing through my mind and senses. Mate! Mate!" The sound was relentless, a piercing voice that made my chest ache with a strange pull. Immediately. I scrambled to my feet as I wiped the tears from my cheeks. My eyes locked onto them standing in the doorway. Their presence, suffocating me.
Shortly, Cade’s voice came first, his hot temper flaring as his eyes narrowed cold on me. "The mate pull led us to her?!" he snapped, his fists clenching at his sides. His broad shoulders tensed, and his jaw ticked with barely restrained fury. "Hell no! The Moon Goddess must’ve lost her damn mind!"
Kael who’s leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed, a lazy smirk suddenly played on his lips. His nonchalant attitude was a courageous act to Cade’s anger.
"She’s got no ass too. Just flat," Kael said, his eyes raking over me with a dismissive flick, like I was nothing just as they saw me.
He tilted his head, his hair falling slightly to his eyes as he chuckled softly in mock.
Zane stood apart, his hands buried in the pockets of his dark trousers, and black jacket, his icy blue eyes fixed on me. His expression was unreadable, but a slow, cruel smirk curled his lips, sending a shiver down my spine. He stepped forward, and in fear, instinctively, my foots moved backwards, my back brushing against the rough wall. His voice broke the silence. "Isn’t the Moon Goddess fair enough?" he said, his smirk widening as he leaned closer, his breath warm against my face. "I mean, even she knows you don’t deserve to be happy. That’s why she mated you to us."
Kael’s chuckle filled the room, "More opportunity to keep her in her place, don’t you think?" he added, his tone casual. He pushed off the doorframe, sauntering closer, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Zane, you’re right. This is going to be fun."
My chest tightened, the mate pull warring with the rage boiling inside me as I snapped. "I don’t want to be your mate!" I yelled, my voice. "I reject you! All of you!"
