The Three Who Chose Me

Chapter 17: Staking a Claim

Thorne

This was a fucking mess. My head was about to explode with all the drama that I have been forced to tolerate in a day. Why couldn’t I have peace for once, and why did the moon goddess had to pair me with someone I had to baby-sit all the time, and the worst was that she threw tantrums?

I felt my wolf howl in anger at my choice of words, but I couldn’t bring myself to apologise to him. Josie was cute and all, but she was a fucking headache. A liability that I didn’t even want to begin with, not after everything that I had been through in my life.

"Are you seriously going to glare at the wall, or you’re going to have the decency to talk to me, eh?" Varen annoyingly piped up.

I turned to face him, feeling my anger push to the seams. I was not in the mood for his crap. All these wouldn’t have happened if he had actually kept his date in check, and now, he was acting like a deer stuck in headlights. He rose his brow at me, actually thinking that I would rise to his bait. He surely hasn’t known me so well.

I flicked my wrist, as I growled out the words, "Get the party, and call the whole thing off. And, make sure that the excited party goers don’t bleed their crap into the main pack, got it," I snapped. He stared at me.

"I asked you something Varen. Use your damn words, and yes, when you find Kiel, get his ass down at my office."

"Did you just talk to me like I’m one of your maids?"

I sighed. "I never saw you wearing the uniform, Varen." I snapped in frustration. "Look, I don’t have the time for all these, just do as I said, ok?"

He clicked his tongue, his blue-eyes were shimmering with rage. I honestly couldn’t care less if his fragile ego was hurt, and I needed him to start moving, but he was still standing there like a complete idiot.

"Thorne, I understand that you’re in a mood, but I want to be spoken to with respect, do you understand that?"
