Chapter 93: From Ballerina to Baffled
The next day, as soon as the break came, a furious, miniature whirlwind dragged Eirin out of the classroom and into the isolated garden. Before Eirin could even register what happened, Shade appeared, seemingly out of thin air. He slammed his tiny hands against the wall beside Eirin, effectively cornering her.
The teenage girl pursed her lips, biting back another giggle, trying desperately to suppress the laughter that threatened to bubble out as she looked down at the furious boy, whose head barely reached her waist.
"What did you spout to everyone!?" His voice was a furious whisper, seething with rage, but his adorable, childlike face, contorted in a comical scowl, somehow distracted Eirin completely. He looked more like an irate pixie than the feared Shade Cromwell.
"Hey! Are you listening, Luxfield?" he demanded, stomping his small foot.
Eirin shook her head, still trying to suppress her laughter. "What? What did I do?" she asked, feigning innocence, though her shoulders shook with mirth.
Shade let out a long, exasperated inhalation, his small chest puffing out. "Why is everyone trying to kiss me!?" Did you tell them about this stupid curse?" he practically shrieked, his voice rising in pitch, attracting the attention of several students passing by who immediately began whispering and pointing.
Eirin clamped a hand over her mouth, muffling another burst of laughter. The image of various girls, undoubtedly driven by a combination of curiosity and the allure of a "cursed child," attempting to ambush him with kisses, was simply too much.
"Stop laughing and answer me, Luxfield!" Shade demanded, his face a furious crimson.
The teenage boy’s usual crude way of talking, his biting remarks and arrogant tone, didn’t sound awful or intimidating now. Instead, it sounded incredibly adorable in Eirin’s ears, especially coming from his tiny form.
