Chapter 227: Revealing Her Secret
At Adam Snow’s house,
"Husband, why are you just staring at your phone? Has your useless daughter called you?" Betty Brown’s voice made Adam Snow flinch as he looked up to see her.
Taking a deep breath, Adam tossed his phone onto the table and stood up. His red eyes showed the anger boiling inside him. His expression clearly revealed he wanted to make someone’s life miserable. It was clear he was furious.
Not answering his wife’s question, Adam Snow looked away and threw himself onto the sofa, resting his back against it. He pinched his temples, trying to ease his headache.
Meanwhile, Vanessa Snow stood by the door, listening to her mother’s words and silently cursing Abigail Snow. Once she felt slight relief from venting her frustration, she entered the seating area and sat across from her parents.
Worry flashed in her eyes as she asked, "Dad, is Abigail ignoring you too? Why has she changed like this? She was upset with me as well." Her voice shook as if she were about to cry.
"I’ve tried to contact her and find out where she works and her new house but failed. It seems she’s hiding from us and wants to cut family ties completely. Oh, how horrible!"
Adam Snow narrowed his eyes as he looked suspiciously at his daughter. He didn’t believe her visibly miserable expression. He suspected something had happened in the capital that was causing Abigail to be so angry with them.
Unable to contain his frustration, he raised his voice, "You are right. Your sister wants to cut ties with us. What the hell are you doing to her, Vanessa Snow? Why does your sister want to do that?"
"Husband, stop scolding Vanessa! It’s not her fault, but your shameless daughter Abigail is out of control. You spoil her too much, and that’s why she behaves this way. She doesn’t even respect her own father..."
Betty scolded Adam angrily, clearly annoyed at hearing him scold their daughter.
