Chapter 219: Threat Lurks!
Sophie Lewis’s expression grew increasingly tense as she stared at the door.
Abigail feared that her grandmother’s physical well-being would be affected by her emotional distress. She stares at her for a few more seconds before saying:
"Grandma, please try to calm down. Don’t worry too much about Adam Snow’s threats. That man won’t be able to hurt you, and he certainly won’t hurt me. Also, I promise to make sure he doesn’t have that chance," She tries to ease her grandmother’s anxiety.
However, her efforts were in vain; Sophie still looked anxious and frightened. Her face, which usually lit up with joy when she saw Abigail, now appeared gloomy, and she seemed unconvinced by Abigail’s reassurances.
Sophie’s hands grew cold as she held Abigail’s tightly.
"Oh, dear Abby, when Adam Snow spoke to me earlier, he sounded furious. He even mentioned that he had sent some people here, ready to follow his orders to hurt me. And... to make it worse, that man even knows my room number."
Abigail couldn’t help but curse her father in her mind. She knew precisely that her father was aware her grandma stayed in this nursing home, but she had never told him the room number. She also remembered instructing Aunty Rosa to keep Grandma’s room number secret.
’Bloody hell, Adam Snow! Did you hack the nursing home’s database? No! Impossible, right?’
She doubted it, but then Ryland appeared in her mind.
