Chapter 206: Uninvited Guest!
Sitting between Sawyer and Hannah, Abigail enjoyed the lunch party. She listened to their family chitchat while occasionally engaging with her mother-in-law and Martha, seated beside Hannah.
The two elders, Nathaniel and James, sat across from her and tried their best to occasionally join the conversation.
However, Abigail noticed something: her father-in-law, Walter, seemed gloomy. He looked unhappy and less chatty than the others.
Several times, she wondered if Walter Jones didn’t like her. However, she refused to believe it, thinking she was exaggerating her concerns.
Abigail tried to set aside her curiosity about Walter as she glanced at Sawyer, now chatting with Rowan, Andy, and the others.
She couldn’t quite catch what they were discussing. However, something made her curious: she still couldn’t believe that Andy Bennet was actually present at their wedding.
"Is Sawyer so close to Andy that he invited him even after discovering Andy had feelings for me?" This question had been swirling in her mind.
She wanted to ask Sawyer why he had invited Andy Bennet, but she worried it might ruin her husband’s mood. She could see how happy he was spending time with his friends.
Abigail hadn’t spoken much with Andy, even though she had several opportunities, as he visibly maintained a distance from her. So far, he had only congratulated her with a handshake and some formal words people usually gave to acquaintances; since then, they hadn’t exchanged any further words.
Abigail began eating her dessert to relax and brush the thought away.
However, after a few moments of successfully immersing herself in enjoying some delicious desserts, Hannah suddenly throws a question that shocks Abigail’s mind.
