Chapter 172: Be Honest To Her
Sawyer feared that talking about it immediately would only make her more upset.
He fell silent for a few seconds, then gently squeezed her hand, lifting his gaze to meet hers.
They locked eyes for a moment before he addressed her concern—he was worried that she might be angry or even throw a fit.
Abigail responded with a light chuckle.
"Huh!? What’s with the chuckle, dear?" Sawyer asked, slightly confused by her reaction.
"Geez, Mr. Sawyer Jones, do you think of me as a teenager with childish, unstable emotions? Please don’t. I trust you. I won’t get jealous or mad easily as long as you don’t betray me," she said sincerely. Her concern stemmed from her memories of her ex-fiancé, Ryland, who had betrayed her with her sister.
"Abby, I won’t..." Sawyer began.
Abigail’s smile slowly faded, and her expression grew serious as she continued, "I won’t give you a second chance if you ever betray me, Sawyer Jones! So please, make sure you don’t—"
Abigail’s voice was cut off when Sawyer kissed her. She felt his hand cradle her head, drawing her close as he deepened the kiss. The sudden kiss made her heart race. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately.
