Chapter 134: Meeting Sawyer’s Grandmother
After closing the door behind him, Sawyer rushed over to Abigail apologetically, aware that he had put her in a difficult situation.
Sawyer knew that Abigail had already worked hard to open her heart to him. Still, he realized that bringing her to meet his entire family could be too much to ask. He was concerned about how his family would react when they finally met her and whether she could handle it.
However, the current situation has taken an unexpected turn. He could no longer hide Abigail’s identity from his grandmother.
"Abby, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know my Grandma would come by to visit her sick friend in this hospital. And I couldn’t have imagined Aaron slip-tongued and telling her about me being in this hospital and room with my girlfriend, you."
Sawyer said, stopping in front of Abigail, placing his hands on her waist, and looking deeply into her eyes. He was confused by how calm she was—was she okay, or was she still nervous?
"I’m really sorry, Abby. I didn’t mean to make you upset or uncomfortable," he whispered.
Abigail gave a faint smile. "Sawyer, it’s fine. It was a bit perplexing at first, but now, I know I can handle it because you have explained it to me. There’s no need to feel bad about it," she said, taking his hand.
Sawyer smiled, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.
"Do you want me to meet her? Or is she already going home?" Abigail asked calmly, though she felt her blood run cold inside; she was incredibly nervous.
