Chapter 117: The Situation Had Shifted In Her Favor
Abigail was shocked to see a familiar face appear in the doorway—
"Brody!" Abigail called as she stood up and ran toward him, throwing herself into his embrace.
"How... how do you know I’m here?" Abigail whispered, struggling to hold back her tears. She was overwhelmed with happiness at seeing someone she recognized finally appear.
"Mr. Sawyer sent me. I’ll explain later how I found you, but you must let go of me. Your boyfriend might kill me if you hug me like this," Brody said in a low voice meant only for her ears.
Abigail was stunned. She was so thrilled to see Brody that she hadn’t realized she was hugging him. Quickly, she let go and looked up to meet his gaze.
"Miss Abigail, are you okay?" Brody asked, concerned by her pale face, bloodshot eyes, and signs of exhaustion.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Hubner’s deep, hoarse voice echoed in the room, interrupting Abigail before she could respond to Brody. "Are you Miss Snow’s lawyer?" he asked, curious about the man.
Not only Hubner but all eyes turned to the newcomers, eager to learn about the tall, burly man in black clothes who suddenly appeared and embraced Abigail.
Brody managed a faint smile as he looked at the police officer. "Sir, I’m not Ms. Snow’s lawyer, but he is—"
