Chapter 112: Exhausting Interrogation
Oracle County Sheriff’s Office.
Abigail should be home now, enjoying a warm bath, but that was just her imagination. After what happened at the cafe, she ended up at the police station.
Sitting in front of the investigator and listening to his endless questions is starting to make her feel overwhelmed. She struggles to think clearly, especially since the police have a connection with Kian.
Frustration builds within her as the officer’s questions make her head spin. He asks questions that seem designed to put her in a difficult position.
"Miss Snow, so you admit to beating Kian because you have a personal dislike for him?"
"You beat him till his bones crack, and he might lose his ability to have a child because he tried to friendly talk to you, but you are annoyed?"
"Miss Snow, my question seems frightening, but you don’t have to worry about anything that would happen to you. Just answer me: are you beating him or not?"
Abigail was left speechless. How could the police trust Kian entirely!? She had beaten Kian because he attempted to harass her. She was merely defending herself against a predator like him.
They had been sitting there for so long, and his questions seemed designed to make her admit that she hit Kian out of hatred. And yet, that man, Kian, was innocent. What on earth!
