Chapter 108: Dealing With Kian
Crimson Leaf Cafe.
Ten minutes before her shift, Abigail arrived at the café. She was surprised to see that it was not as packed as usual. Only a few tables were occupied on the first floor, and there was no line at the cashier.
As she walked quietly toward the staff lounge, hoping not to be noticed, she spotted Kian and Tanya talking behind the counter. However, before she could pass by, Tanya caught sight of her.
"Oh, Sister Abigail, you’re here early," Tanya said, moving away from Kian to approach Abigail with her trademark wide smile.
"Sister Abigail, we don’t have many customers right now. You can take your time in the staff lounge. Plus, we have Brother Kian here, who will be working until night to keep you company," Tanya giggled happily, which made Abigail smile in return.
"Has Boss Lana returned? I haven’t seen her." Abigail asked, beginning to worry about having to work with Kian until the evening. Even now, she could feel Kian’s intense gaze on her, which made her uncomfortable.
Abigail tried her best to ignore him, even though she knew she couldn’t avoid him until the evening.
"Yeah, she told me she has some personal errands and would only return after we close the café," Tanya explained.
Abigail chose not to say anything else. She walked inside to get ready, trying to think positively about Kian, hoping he wasn’t as bad as she thought and that all her suspicions about him were false.
