Chapter 80: She Might Fall Into His Trap
After calming his anger, Sawyer gently answered, "Yes, I remember you mentioned your landlord. What agreement did he specify in the contract?" Sawyer deliberately asked again, pretending not to know.
"Well, there isn’t a written agreement. But Mr. Peters verbally asked me to clean his house occasionally so that when he moves back in, it’s as clean as when I first came here. Even though I want to ignore it because I’m exhausted, I feel like I can’t because I promised him."
"That Mr. Peters is too much. How dare he expect you to keep that promise?" Sawyer gritted his teeth, trying to hold back his anger.
Abigail let out a silent, deep sigh, hearing Sawyer’s frustration.
"Abby, do you want me to talk to him? I could offer him a new deal. Or... would you like me to buy the entire house? That way, you can stay there as long as you like and don’t have to clean the house for him."
Sawyer swallowed hard. His anger toward Ronan almost made him reveal his identity, but he couldn’t back out now. He felt sorry for Abigail having to clean that house alone.
Abigail laughed at his sudden offer. She knew Sawyer could do that, but she didn’t take it seriously; he must have just been trying to make her smile.
"Sawyer, can you really do that? I mean, houses in this area aren’t cheap," she asked, playing along.
Sawyer chuckled, "Abby, do you forget who your future husband is?"
