Chapter 52: Future Brother-In-Law
Saturday finally arrived.
Today was the first time Abigail had requested a morning shift since she started working at Crimson Leaf Café, which made Lana suspicious.
When Abigail arrived at the café, Lana couldn’t help but pester her about where she was going. She had no choice but to explain that she wanted to visit her grandma and would stay until Monday. Thankfully, her innocent boss believed her.
Abigail’s morning shift went smoothly, and she didn’t have to explain anything to Lana about Sawyer.
Not long after, her work hours ended.
She felt excited when she received a text from Sawyer informing her that he had arrived and parked in the building next door.
Thrilled about meeting Sawyer, Abigail said goodbye to Erica before entering the staff room to grab her bag.
Carrying only her usual backpack, Abigail packed simple clothes for a two-night, three-day stay in the mountains. Sawyer hadn’t given her any clues about what to wear, and she hoped she wouldn’t choose the wrong outfit.
When Abigail returned to the front counter, she was surprised to find only Erica with a server there—they were talking in the corner.
"Erica, where’s Boss Lana?" Abigail asked, worried about leaving the café with Lana nowhere in sight. Earlier, she hadn’t seen Lana in her office either.
"Boss Lana? She went outside to the bank in the building next door," Erica replied as she approached Abigail. "Are you heading to Orange Town now?"
