Chapter 1: The Immortal
In the early spring, the weather was still cold. The night wind howled through the forest, blowing into the Taoist temple’s main hall, which had only half a door left, but was countered by the lively atmosphere inside.
In the center of the hall, a roaring bonfire burned brightly. More than ten men gathered around it, drinking and eating, laughing and sweating, creating a very lively scene.
