Chapter 73: Lull?
Derek let himself fall to the ground, landing lightly on the indescribable gore covering the rocky ground as far as the eye could see.
He stayed like that for a couple of seconds until his brain caught up and realized he wasn’t about to eat pavement, then dropped into a relaxed stance and carefully walked over to where Ye-in was standing.
“We’re all okay, right?” Atticus’ voice rang out behind them, followed by a hand landing on Derek’s shoulder as the pilot stepped between them.
For a brief moment, Derek was about to pull away; there should have been no way for Atticus to avoid getting absolutely filthy with his fighting style, but there wasn’t a speck of dirt, blood, or viscera on him.
In fact, glancing back with his [Aura], it seemed as though the mess on the ground had receded around every place the other man’s feet had landed.
Apparently, Atticus is only bad at utility magic when it comes to chores. Derek sighed internally.
Out loud, he simply shrugged.
“Mana’s a little low, and I had to take a couple of potions.”
“Good to go,” Ye-in said with a lot more certainty than he’d been able to muster. Though the loud clunk of her heavy shield dropping to the ground and the following sigh of relief partially gave lie to that.
