"What’s so funny?" the Demon General demanded, his voice laced with incredulity. The other demons were equally perplexed, their faces frozen in shock. How could they find humor in this precarious predicament?
Even Shi Ji’s usually impassive countenance began to show signs of cracking as he caught the infectious laughter of Xiao Yun and the others hiding in the void. His gaze narrowed, fixing on the direction where they were concealed.
Shi Ji’s eyes narrowed as he gazed at Shenlian Yingyue. "You seem so calm and carefree, what’s behind that mask? Are you hiding something? Or do you have some, backup?" He hesitated over the last word, unsure if he should reveal his suspicion.
Shenlian Yingyue’s smile grew wider, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, I just thought, since you humans summoned entities from your realm to fight against me, it’s only fair that I call upon my own, allies to join the fun." Her voice was laced with a playful tone, one that sent shivers down Shi Ji’s spine.
The room fell silent as Bi Xue, the demon prince, spoke up in disbelief. "You mean to say this is a, game to you?" Her voice dripped with incredulity. It was the first time she had ever encountered someone who didn’t cower in fear at the mere mention of demons.
Shenlian Yingyue’s laughter echoed through the room, a joyful sound that belied the destruction that was about to unfold. "Ah, yes. A game. Although, I must admit, I’ve been waiting for this moment for quite some time." She gazed around at the cityscape before her, her expression tinged with regret. "I apologize, houses and land and forests and planet. I never meant for this to happen."
With a bow, she apologized to the very earth itself, her words heavy with sorrow. "But alas, war between humans and demons is inevitable. And I, I fear I am its harbinger."
Everyone’s expressions shifted awkwardly as their lips twitched. What an eccentric human!
No sooner had she finished speaking than she darted forward to confront Infernal Volcanic. At the same time, Shenlian Yinzhu and Jun Mu Yang charged toward Demon King Shi, while Bing Xue engaged Yao in battle. Zhiyi squared off against the black-cloaked demon, and Feng Huang, alongside Hong Zuan, clashed with the six-armed ice entity.
Xiao Li, Xiao Lan, Tian Tian, Huan Huan, and Zhizhi clashed fiercely with the Demon Generals and Upper-Rank Demons.
Xie Xie and Xiao Mei scanned the battlefield cautiously. They waited for the Invisible Demon to reveal itself. Sure enough, as the chaos of battle erupted on both sides, they noticed a strange ripple in the void. Determined not to let anyone fall victim to an ambush, Xie Xie’s golden scorpions burst forth from the ground and air, forming a barrier that encircled the Invisible Demon’s hiding place.
