Chapter 88 -- 88
Vayu gave her a slow, sleepy smile and then bent down beside her, resting his arms on his knees.
"You see," he began, voice calm, almost too calm, "there’s... a bit of a problem between me and the Mermaid Tribe."
Kaya didn’t say anything—just stared at him, waiting.
"A few years ago," Vayu continued, "my brother disappeared. Near their territory. Just vanished. And since then... well, I’ve had this... unfinished business with them."
Kaya’s gaze narrowed. "So, what? You want me to be part of your revenge plan?"
He looked at her, eyes widening as he quickly shook his head. "No, no—nothing like that." He raised his hands, shrugging slightly. "How can you even think that?"
Then he let out a small, helpless sigh, eyes dropping to her shoulder.
"It’s just... I want you to go to the Mermaid Tribe. With me. That’s all. Everything’s already arranged," he said. "I hired a few Shark thugs to stage a small attack on the tribe—nothing big. They’re weak right now, so they’ll need help. If you go there with me, and we make a pact, then we both get what we want."
Kaya frowned. "What exactly do I get out of this?"
"You get your pure sea water," he said easily. "And I get the medicine. The herbs they have—they can heal anything. Illness, injuries... they can make a body stronger. Healthier. Like, completely clean and new."
Kaya looked at him in disbelief and scoffed. "And you think I’d agree to this?"
