Chapter 219: Guard Dog
Darcy walked slowly, feeling a bit excited. When he reached the group, most of the players were gathered around a whiteboard where one of them had started drawing a rough layout of the match. The atmosphere was filled with strategy discussion and excited chatter.
Darcy spotted Archie, who was standing near the edge of the group, half distracted, adjusting the sleeves of his new jersey. He had changed into fresh clothes, and his damp hair clung slightly to his forehead.
Darcy bit his lip, trying to suppress a laugh. He cleared his throat and walked up to him. "Hey, can I talk to you? Alone?"
Archie turned, blinking. He glanced at his teammates, then gave a short nod. "Yeah. Sure."
They stepped a little to the side, just far enough from the group to avoid drawing attention, but still within sight.
"What is it?" Archie asked, folding his arms.
"We are leaving. I wanted to let you know," Darcy said calmly, trying to hide his smirk.
Archie’s brows furrowed. "What do you mean, leaving? The final is about to start."
"I know," Darcy replied simply. "That’s why we are forfeiting. This is your team’s time. Not ours."
