Chapter 93: Repelling Roommates: A Magnetic Tragedy
Micah followed Darcy with a sulky expression like a child being dragged away from his favourite toy. His sneakers dragged across the polished dormitory floor, and every few steps, he huffed dramatically.
"What’s the matter? Still upset I didn’t let you fight that guy?" Darcy chuckled, noticing how grumpy Micah looked.
"Yeah! How could he say that?! I should have knocked some sense into him! You were just helping me! Ahh.... the more I think about it, the angrier I get...!" Micah stomped his foot.
"I don’t care about his misunderstanding. It’s your first day. I didn’t want you getting into a fight with your roommate because of me," Darcy said.
"You are way too considerate... Tsk..." Micah mumbled.
Darcy walked ahead, leading the way to Room 422 with a smile on his face. When they finally arrived, he turned the key and pushed the door open.
The moment Micah stepped in, he felt it. The air was different, quieter and heavier.
Three students already occupied the room. One had oversized glasses and was hunched over a thick stack of notes, scribbling furiously. Another was curled on his bed, half buried under a blanket with a novel raised high above his face. The last sat cross-legged at his desk, eyes glued to his laptop screen, fingers moving across the keyboard.
The atmosphere was completely different from his own room. Micah realised instantly, this was the smart kids’ room.
The moment Darcy entered, the three other students turned their heads in unison, their gazes narrowing in silent curiosity. There was no greeting, just quiet evaluation, their expression unreadable.
Micah stood awkwardly. He could tell they were measuring Darcy. Was he their rival? Competing with them for a scholarship or better grades?!
