Chapter 58: SugarPlumFairy Walks into the Wolf Den
Micah was lost, again. He stared at his phone, Binates Hall, fourth floor, fan meeting. Simple enough, but somehow, he couldn’t even find the elevator. The hallway seemed to stretch on endlessly. After a few aimless turns, he finally spotted a hotel staff member. He rushed over like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. "Excuse me! Help... Please!"
The Hotel staff’s expression turned blank for a second before he guided Micah through several twists and turns.
Micah finally stood before the private booth.
It was a sleek glass-walled room, transparent enough to peek inside, but soundproofed to isolate the chatter within. Inside, the decor was oddly romantic, with soft lighting, flickering candles, and fresh flower arrangements. It looked like more a date setup than a fan meeting.
Peeking out from behind a marble pillar, Micah nervously glanced into the room. Nearly fifty women were gathered inside, ranging from bubbly teens to stylish women in their early thirties. Not a single man in sight. Micah grimaced, thinking if any man from the group chat saw this crowd, they would probably bolt on the spot. It was like stepping into a wolf den. One packed with passionate, territorial, and frighteningly coordinated women. They would chew him out to find out why he was a fan of Leo. Good thing he had come disguised.
Micah patted his bulging chest, feeling reassured.
Peering through the glass, he tried to guess which one was LioNessQueen. The Room seemed to divide naturally into three groups. One was lively and laughing, clearly old friends. The second exchanged polite words, stiff and courteous. And the third stood silently, awkwardly, unsure how to start a conversation. No obvious leader in sight.
Micah smoothed down his clothes and walked inside. The low hum of chatter quilted down slightly at his entrance. From across the room, a girl noticed him and beamed. She looked around twenty-two, wearing a ponytail and an oversized cream blouse tucked into loose corduroy pants. Her whole vibe was warm and welcoming, like a senior sister in a university club.
"Oh, hi! Are you here for the fan meeting?" she asked, stepping toward him.
Micah nodded quickly, his voice caught in his throat. "Yeah, I’m... here for the meeting."
"Great, can I have your WeChat ID?" the girl asked.
