Chapter 315: Liviera and Noreen (2)
The royal guards had no choice but to relent, seeing that the mother empress was so determined. However, they continued to stay alert and were prepared for anything unexpected that might happen.
Their guns were pointing at the door, ready to shoot at any time. Levin also didn’t persuade Liviera anymore; it pained him, though, that all of them were alert to the potential danger his mother could cause.
Levin only stood there, holding a gun, but unlike the others, he didn’t point it at the door. He just couldn’t do it. As expected, his resolve wasn’t firm when the one he loved was involved.
He wondered why the emperor assigned him to this mission in the first place?
No matter what Levin thought, this wouldn’t change Liviera’s decision, as he slowly opened the door. Contrary to everyone and his expectations, he was extremely calm at this moment, to the point that it seemed abnormal.
Liviera thought that he would immediately tremble with anger after arriving, just like how his hand was shaking at the ship; perhaps he might also lose control of his emotions and charge without thinking.
However, when he was already here, he fell into a strange state of calmness instead. Perhaps his reconciliation with his son affected his emotions more than he thought.
When the door was completely opened, the royal guards’ stance became combat-ready, but there wasn’t any ambush or gunfire; they were only greeted by silence.
What was inside was a clean and elegant room; the interior was inspired by the sea, reminding them that they were on an island. Leviera’s eyes roamed before landing in one position. Someone was sitting at one of the seats at a table close to the closed balcony.
She was leisurely leaning into it as she sipped on a wine glass. If one wasn’t knowledgeable enough, one might have thought that the woman was normally doing her thing in her leisure time.
If only there weren’t any bloodbaths outside of this seemingly peaceful room.
