Chapter 312: The Chaos Starts
Spade readily agreed with him. In this matter, they actually had the same opinion. In any case, it would still be a long time to go. At least they had more pressing matters to attend to at this moment.
Arren had only mentioned it casually; he wanted to have this habit of being more open to what he wanted and letting others know what he felt, especially those close to his heart.
Not only that, he wanted to become involved as well. In his condition, being passive actually had some advantages. He could block out some things while he focused on his recovery.
Yet, it also had a huge disadvantage. One was that it could give him a false reality, and he might not overcome his escapism mentality.
One thing he learned during this second life—well, third life—was that Arren couldn’t just let things flow and be caught off guard by the events he should’ve prevented.
He admitted his faults, and he also acknowledged that it was not too late to slowly adapt to the changes that the times had brought him. It was also his way to fully overcome the past.
"Spade... You won’t stop me, right?" Arren had stopped going around in circles; his voice turned solemn.
Arren had felt the alpha flinch; at some point, he knew that Spade also predicted this would happen. In a way, it would be inevitable; they had to admit that fact.
He withdrew from the embrace, gently forming circles in the alpha’s nape, as though coaxing his emotions. Arren looked Spade in the eye, and he wanted to show him how determined he was.
He loved Spade and even his father’s protective side; he really did. In fact, if all of this didn’t happen, perhaps Arren would only let things pass while under the protection and care of those who loved him so much.
That was who he was; he was never capable of doing something remarkable. Arren knew he was but a spoiled brat before the trouble arrived and plunged him into its tidal wave, never giving him a chance to prepare one bit.
