Chapter 289: Arren’s Adventure’s (3)
Arren didn’t deny that, despite how reckless he seemed, he didn’t really have any survival instincts when he was outside. Well, perhaps he could last in this chase, provided that he had some money on him.
Yet, Arren had nothing on him. Since he was escaping in urgency earlier, he never bothered to think about his condition. Only after he was out of danger for a while did Arren’s stomach begin grumbling for food.
After all, Arren couldn’t even fully eat their lunch, and that was the last meal he ate. Not to mention, he was on some drugs, which weakened his senses and made him weak.
Even to this point, Arren still felt his body’s condition was not great. Despite that, he needed to keep going. If not for Auntie Mildred offering him shelter, Arren could only wander and persist until he found a solution to leave the city or contact Spade.
Auntie Mildred then smiled as she continued. "Go ahead, and just so you know, I already took a bath as well, so you can be at ease eating what I prepared."
Since both of them had been in a dumpster, this was her way of easing the atmosphere. Arren couldn’t help but reciprocate the smile.
"No... I’m fine with anything." He shook his head and lowered his head in gratitude. To be able to eat anything, Arren didn’t really care at this moment.
With a carefree smile, they all started to eat. The table was truly large, but not enough for all of the children to have their seats, and Aren was also an addition, so some kids had to eat in the living room instead.
When they were eating, Arren managed to observe everyone. Auntie Mildred was lecturing the kids on not being wasteful, while some older kids were also having conversations.
