At the same time, when the monarch’s arrival was announced, everyone inside the hall stood up simultaneously and bowed respectfully at the imposing figure.
Arren had caught a glimpse of the man first before he also bowed like the others. It was quite an experience to be in the crowd of nobles saluting the one and only ruler of the empire.
His lips subconsciously quirked up; the fresh scene gave off a vibe of fantasy for a moment. There was also a tug of curiosity in his mind. Arren almost wanted to raise his head and look at the face of the monarch to see his face up close.
Of course, he managed to hold it in and continued to bow his head.
"Rise." A deep and commanding voice reverberated in the silent hall as everyone instinctively complied and lifted their heads.
The voice was even louder where Arren was, and as he raised his head, he automatically looked at the head seat of their table. Unsurprisingly, there was someone already occupying it as he stood before everyone.
Arren blinked his eyes, and even though he knew it was disrespectful to stare openly at the monarch, he still couldn’t help but do so. His gaze seemed to be mesmerized, and he was drawn to the man who held the absolute authority of the empire in his hands.
His mouth was speaking, but Arren couldn’t focus on it as much as he wanted to. Their distance was only a few steps, and Arren could see his cold appearance more closely.
The intimidating gaze that swept at everyone in the hall and his handsome appearance made everything on his face seem to fall perfectly into place. Not to mention his eyes, which were too deep and carried his dominating presence the most.
