Chapter 236: Birthday Heat (1)
His heat was indeed coming soon this month, and Arren had never taken any heat suppressants since being together with Spade. It wasn’t necessary anymore, as he already had his alpha to spend his heats with.
Omega heats came three times a year and happened once every four months. He had his heat in January, so he would have his heat this month of May. It just so happened that this was also his birthday month, and Arren wasn’t hoping for a big party; he’d never had one in years, much less in a situation like they were in.
They already spent their heat and rut with each other, but both came somehow unexpected, and Arren thought they might prepare more this time around. He was a dominant omega, so his heats were destined to be worse and longer than the normal omegas.
It wasn’t just about sex either, as they could do it without being under the influence of heat or rut, but there were more heats that they had to prepare themselves for. Arren tended to be far more careless when he was in heat because of his instincts, and the most important one was making sure no accident would happen.
During heat, there was the highest chance he could get pregnant, after all.
At what he said, Spade seemed stunned for a moment as a realization slowly dawned on him. He was so focused on the war and its aftermaths these past few days that it was already good that he still remembered Arren’s birthday, but his heat completely slipped his mind.
At this point, Arren could understand, so he needed to remind him.
"Right, your heat..." Spade muttered, looking at the omega. For some reason, he looked to be in a daze as he spoke. His throat bobbed as though it were difficult to swallow as he touched Arren’s jaw, tracing it ever so slightly. "I’ll prepare right away," he said in a deep and hurried voice, his eyes sparkling with some emotion.
Arren, who had his jaw traced in such a manner by the alpha, was unable to respond for a moment, as though he had forgotten what he was about to say. Once he recovered slightly and composed himself, his eyes fluttered softly, and the corners glinted and curved as he laughed.
