Ivo’s eyes drooped slightly, the sadness lingered and lustered on them. "But how can it be easy to escape the organization... to escape his eyes?" He laughed mockingly, "We don’t know, he... he knows where we are. He... is with everyone all along, deceiving all of us." The sadness was slightly tinged with uncontrolled fear.
"He doesn’t know that Arielle succeeded; even that bloody year, he only had a hunch but not entirely, so she was killed for betraying the organization. About us..." he said, taking a deep breath. Ivo had a hard time formulating his words.
Rave stared at the fear-stricken expression of his father; he knew that the trauma he had about this leader was no less than that of everyone else.
Ivo closed his eyes for a split second, before opening them again. There was now a little bit of resentment in them. His emotions were truly laid bare at this moment, as they changed in a matter of seconds.
"We saw his face, we... accidentally stumbled upon them." The bitter words came out of his lips: "For him, his identity was the most crucial before, and we were hunted down."
"Then, why did both you and Dad... tell anyone or even confess to His Majesty?" Rave still found it unreasonable that they chose to hide instead of confessing to the previous Emperor. He knew there must be a reason for it, and the identity of the leader was in no way simple.
Ivo sighed heavily and grasped Rave’s hand gently. "We did..." he answered, still adding amidst Rave’s surprised eyes. "Do you think we haven’t thought of that? But... I understand His Majesty’s considerations. It was..." Ivo shook his head. The mood was so heavy that Rave almost suffocated. "... not an easy decision for him."
Rave was truly shocked that all this time the previous Emperor knew who had been the leader of the organization all along! And he didn’t take action and chose to be silent. Actually, he already has some of his considerations.
