Chapter 165: Nightmare (1)
As he was being engulfed by the black liquid, Arren felt how it felt again for his breath to slowly leave him. He experienced the same thing when he was about to die and had only a little consciousness left to hear all the cries and pleadings from his previous life’s parents, but he couldn’t do anything to assure them as his life was gradually fading away.
It was the same this time; unlike before, he wasn’t that accepting of dying this time. He wasn’t ready; he didn’t want to die. Arren forced himself to wake up, or at least move and swim forward, but it was futile.
It was like something was holding his feet and dragging him into the depths, and Arren, no matter how hard he wanted to save himself, was aware that it was inevitable for him to drown.
Was this his end? No... it was a nightmare. Was it possible that when he died here, he would also die in reality? As he thought about it, it was extremely possible.
Arren was already feeling hopeless, and he couldn’t breathe anymore. With only a sliver of his consciousness left, he remembered his father, who was in the capital, Spade, who was waiting for him to wake up, and everyone that he already cared for, like Rave.
Unlike in his previous life, this life was truly where Arren realized that he was integrated into the world and that he didn’t want to leave yet.
Spade... Dad... he called out in his mind before his breathing came to a halt.
