Chapter 159: New Information (2)
Curt looked at them, slightly absentminded, while he seemed to also be trying to recognize them. It only took a few seconds before the man seemed to become fully awake, and he was looking in Spade’s direction; he recognized him obviously, while his eyes also shifted to Arren at the side. His eyes had an inexplicable emotion within them.
But most of all, the fear was evident for a split second before it disappeared, and he seemed to accept his situation and quickly calmed down.
Arren was astounded by this man’s ability to remain calm in the face of a potentially dangerous situation. It was also one of the reasons he was hard to track and capture; aside from his sensitive danger sense and extensive connections, he could still think calmly despite being chased by authorities.
This ability was shown as even at this time, when he was alone and caught off guard, Levin and the others still had a hard time chasing him. Arren even wondered if, if Curt wasn’t injured, he might have escaped again.
He was extremely frightened of this fellow, who was worthy of being an undying cockroach. However, his luck was spent, as his danger sense seemed to become defective as he tried to hide on this island when they happened to also be staying here.
"Y-Your Majesty," Curt saluted, somehow sounding respectful even, although his voice was a bit hoarse and hard to understand before he coughed and cleared his throat.
All eyes in the room were fixated on him, but he wasn’t fazed before he stood up on his own and sat at the seat that was dedicated to him. There were two seats at the side of which Levin and Ace would sit.
Arren’s brow moved, and he watched Curt, who was still wounded and under the scrutiny of so many people, even Spade himself. He still managed to be so composed in spite of all that! It was truly commendable; if only he weren’t so vile, Arren might have already voiced his amazement.
Spade and others more or less wore similar expressions as they watched the alpha before them. However, Spade wasn’t the one who praised someone who was about to be interrogated for his crimes; his expressions returned to those of being composed and oppressive.
