Chapter 136: Stranger
Curt was one of the most wanted individuals in the empire; however, he was also difficult to track, much less capture. After those months, the black intel was still unable to know his whereabouts.
And now, Arren just had to encounter him on this island. At this point in time, he was like a lost chicken, and when Curt saw him, it was unknown who would chase who.
Arren didn’t even question the ability of this undying cockroach; for sure, he had seduced and tricked some noble youths again, which was why he was here. One thing that kept him alive even after this long was his extensive connections and sources.
He bowed his head and made himself as casual as possible, as though he were there eating with the older man before him. In any case, he had thick skin, and he could apologize later for some inconvenience.
"You’re hiding from someone?" a soft yet somewhat hoarse voice, whispered.
Upon hearing this, he had to lift his gaze and look at the one who spoke, the man in front of him. As their eyes met, he was a bit startled to see that under the shade of his hoodie, the other half of his face leading to his neck appeared to be covered in burned scars. It wasn’t too hideous looking but was still noticeable. However, Arren didn’t react too much and nodded his head.
His kind eyes lingered on him for a moment before he looked casually at a distance and then returned to him. Arren didn’t say anything and observed the man. Although he had this kind appearance and an even more approachable air, he was still a stranger.
He didn’t know him, so he couldn’t trust him that much. However, since he was the one who took the initiative to sit here, Arren had no qualms about talking to him at all.
The man stared at him for a few seconds before, he lowered his gaze and started to eat once more. But before that, he spoke and invited Arren.
