Chapter 106: Conjecture
After Arren cried for some time and they embraced each other tightly, he pulled away slightly, lifted his head, and looked at Spade. His cheeks were soaked with tears, and even the corner of his eyes had some tears still in them.
Spade immediately wiped his tears and dried his cheeks for him with his hand, while the alpha’s eyes showed some conflicted emotions upon seeing his tears.
They were both also aware that crying really did help release the burden from Arren’s heart. It was also the reason that Spade didn’t say anything and let him cry to his heart’s content.
"I agree, I’ll talk to someone. Although, I’m not really used to trusting someone with my matters and knowing of my emotional state." Arren stared at the alpha, showing his sincerity, and agreed to his suggestion. A smile appeared on his lips.
Compared to his forced smile, Arren’s genuine smile was undoubtedly more beautiful, and it made everyone around him feel completely reassured. As he continued with his words, "I also want to try this time, and also... I know that a lot of people are worried about me."
Arren really wasn’t a fan of talking to someone he didn’t know, even if they were a professional. He knew that both parties or at least he, needed trust for the treatment to work; otherwise, no matter how many sessions they had, it was still useless.
However, he also didn’t want to be stubborn about this anymore. What happened really needed more consultation for his trauma since, no matter what, being caught in the middle of a battlefield where there was gunfire and dying men was enough for someone’s mentality to collapse.
He didn’t want his stubbornness to be the one that would haunt him later, so he wanted to try this method to at least reassure himself and those around him that the effects of what happened wouldn’t turn serious.
Arren never thought that seeking professional help was a shameful thing to do. It was also a way of caring for yourself.
