Chapter 75: Banquet (2)
He glowered slightly but didn’t make things difficult for Ramon. Arren leaned on his seat and folded his arms in front of him. His intimidating phoenix eyes stared ahead of him. The banquet hall was beginning to be crowded, and some of the influential nobles from different factions arrived.
Arren roamed his eyes around, but he still hadn’t seen his father and the old nobles; at this moment, the younger generation was the only one filling up the hall. However, they also had their own group based on status and the faction they were in.
He sneered in his heart; this was also one of the things he hated about these kinds of events. Socializing with others was required, especially for the slightly lower-status nobles to curry the favor of those nobles with higher status than themselves. As a son of the Duke and even from a royal faction, it was fortunate that Arren could skip this part entirely.
After roaming his eyes around for a bit, he happened to land his gaze on Ramon, who was bored watching the others as well. Both of them were in the royal faction and didn’t bother with status at all. They looked lonely at a glance, but that wasn’t because no one wanted to talk to them; their status alone was already a deterrent to others.
"Ah, right, Arren." After a while, Ramon called out to him.
"What is it?" He glanced at the beta, and they locked gazes.
"I only noticed just now, but there is an even more major difference about you tonight," Ramon pointed out, even knitting his brows to look seriously at Arren.
"What is it this time?" He arched his brow and was almost tired of Ramon’s antics; he had been saying something different to him since earlier, and not even this was major.
"No, I’m serious. It’s like you are more comfortable in this party, and you don’t look distracted at all." revealing his thoughts and staring intently at Arren as if this was something really surprising that needed more attention.
