Chapter 1496 - 1545: One Against 20
After watching the sunset and walking back, they happened to encounter Old Fisherman Yoshino, who invited them to Li Yifei’s house for a meal.
Meng Xiaofei thought of the delicious fruit juice and nodded repeatedly. Li Yifei didn’t stand on ceremony and brought the remaining seafood, meat, and other items from home to Yoshino’s house.
Seeing the items, Yoshino knew that Li Yifei was leaving and nodded, saying, "It’s good to leave. Those people are local bullies. They’ll cause trouble. If you leave, they won’t be able to do anything to you."
Li Yifei explained, "That’s not it. We’ll solve this trouble before we leave. However, there’s too much food at home, and we can’t finish it, so we’re giving it to you both to eat."
Seeing that he couldn’t persuade Li Yifei otherwise, Yoshino complied, accepted the items, and took them to the kitchen, asking his wife to put them in the refrigerator.
The dinner was very sumptuous and authentic. Li Yifei ate until he was full, and Meng Xiaofei even started hiccuping. After the four finished eating, Li Yifei didn’t rush to leave but sat down to drink tea and chat with the old fisherman.
Knowing that Li Yifei was about to leave, Old Fisherman Yoshino talked more. Fueled by alcohol, the old man even mentioned events from decades ago, with words filled with remorse. Upon further inquiry by Li Yifei, he learned that Yoshino’s father was involved back then but was said to have been captured and never returned to Japan.
As they talked, Li Yifei learned from the old man that the place where his father was captured seemed to be near Mile City, so he said, "Grandpa Yoshino, I’m from Mile City."
"Ah? Really?" Yoshino’s eyes widened upon hearing this. The next second, he stood up and bowed to Li Yifei, an action that stunned both Li Yifei and Meng Xiaofei. Yoshino then said, "I apologize to you and your city for my father’s wrongdoings back then, and I repent."
Li Yifei was silent for a moment and then stood up as well, saying, "There’s no need for this. For the events of those days, who was right or wrong is something each person decides in their heart. The Japanese I dislike and hate are those who committed mistakes and won’t admit them, even refusing to repent unto death. But that doesn’t mean all people of a nation are like that. People like you are representatives of good people in your country."
"Thank you for your understanding. I also believe there will always be some people in our country with kind hearts, who love peace, who feel remorse for past mistakes, and who sincerely seek to amend them."
On this topic, Li Yifei didn’t want to say much, especially to a Japanese person. He knew Yoshino was a good Japanese person, but he hadn’t often encountered good Japanese people during his time in Japan. He also couldn’t forget he was a soldier, inherently resistant to certain countries and peoples.
"There is good and bad in every nation and every people. I don’t want to say too much, but what is certain is that today’s Huaxia is not a country any other nation in the world can bully, nor could they act as they please on our land, like in the old days."
Old Yoshino sighed heavily and said, "Enough, let’s not talk about this. My wife and I welcome you to visit us again. As long as my wife and I are alive, we’ll serve you the best things we have."
"Haha, thank you for that."
As they were talking, the sound of a car engine came from outside, followed by a series of thudding footsteps. Yoshino’s face changed dramatically, and he instinctively stood up to look outside.
Kyoko hurriedly went outside to check the situation.
Meng Xiaofei also followed out and returned a few seconds later, saying to Li Yifei, "It’s those people, four or five cars, heading to our house."
Li Yifei nodded and stood up, telling Meng Xiaofei, "Stay here with them, don’t go outside, I’ll handle it."
"Alright." Meng Xiaofei nodded and added, "Brother Li, be careful."
Li Yifei grinned at Meng Xiaofei and reassured her and Yoshino, "Don’t worry, I’ll be fine."
Kyoko came back, slightly panicked, and said to Li Yifei and the others, "They’re smashing the door, there are more than twenty of them, I saw through the door..."
Li Yifei said, "Okay, I’ll go. You all wait until it’s safe to go out."
As Li Yifei spoke, he swiftly and lightly tapped his toes a few times and was already at the entrance.
Inside the house, Yoshino and Kyoko were stunned watching Li Yifei. The speed he just displayed was not something an ordinary person could possess, and both immediately thought of the legendary masters.
Outside, Kawamoto Goroku returned with his men. They couldn’t swallow the humiliation from two Huaxia people in that small fishing village, so as soon as he went back, he gathered his men and prepared to retaliate.
He had previously ordered people to block the road, knowing those two Huaxia people hadn’t left, so Kawamoto Goroku wasn’t in too much of a hurry. After receiving some simple treatment for his injuries, he drank two more bottles of liquor to muster his courage.
After spending the entire afternoon, Kawamoto Goroku still couldn’t figure out how the opponent had managed to take down all four of his men. The woman clearly moved very slowly, with minimal strength. If there was anything strange, it was that the man’s speed was incredibly fast. However, Kawamoto Goroku later couldn’t quite remember just how fast Li Yifei had been. After several analyses, he concluded that he must have seen it wrong.
This time, nearly twenty people came, six or seven of whom were armed with real weapons, including pistols and machine guns. He didn’t believe that he couldn’t handle the two Huaxia people.
The others were also armed with knives and similar weapons. A group of them came over aggressively, only to find that none of the lights in Li Yifei’s house were on, and the door was locked. Kawamoto Goroku immediately got angry, first calling over the subordinates who were supposed to be secretly watching the village entrance, scolding them for a bit. After confirming that no one had left, he prepared to have someone smash the door.
Kawamoto Goroku stood outside, holding a silver revolver in his hand, and shouted into the yard, "Chinaman, come out. I know you’re home. Don’t hide inside in silence. I’m here today with people to show you what it means to be tough!"
"Boss, the lights are on in those two old folks’ house, let’s capture them first." a subordinate suggested as he leaned in.
Kawamoto Goroku immediately nodded and said, "Okay, you, and you, go capture those old folks. Damn it, daring to help the Chinaman bully me. I’ll kill him."
Two henchmen took the order, grabbed their knives, and headed to Yoshino’s house. When they reached the door and were just about to kick it open and rush in, a dark figure suddenly appeared in front of them. It was tall, and the two were startled, opening their mouths to shout.
Li Yifei grabbed each person by the neck with one hand, choking their cries back. With a slight exertion of force, they felt as if they were suffocating, their necks nearly being snapped.
The knives in their hands fell to the ground with a clatter, their bodies gradually losing strength, their limbs hanging limply.
Li Yifei didn’t kill them. Killing was an option, and he could deal with the aftermath, but it would affect the old couple inside the Yoshino house.
He directly picked up these two cronies and walked towards Kawamoto Goroku’s men.
Kawamoto Goroku shouted a few times, getting no response, and in irritation, kicked the butt of one of his subordinates, yelling, "Kick the door in, rush inside!"
"Are you looking for me?" Li Yifei’s voice was calm with a hint of coldness, and though not loud, it reached Kawamoto Goroku and his men like a clap of thunder. They immediately turned to see Li Yifei walking from the darkness, holding two unconscious henchmen.
"It’s you!" Kawamoto Goroku shouted, raising his gun and aiming at Li Yifei.
Li Yifei said, "I let you go this afternoon to spare your life. Now you’ve come back; is it that you don’t want it anymore?"
"Bullshit, I’ve come back to take your life, Chinaman. You’re arrogant, not only did you not leave, but you also dared to hurt my men." Kawamoto Goroku hesitated to shoot immediately, mindful of his subordinates, secretly astonished by Li Yifei’s strength. These two subordinates were sturdy, each weighing over 150 pounds, yet the Chinaman was holding one in each hand, seemingly with ease.
Hmph, so what? I have a gun. No matter how strong, can you withstand bullets?
Thinking this, Kawamoto Goroku regained his confidence. He shook the gun barrel slightly and said with a grim face, "Let go of my people."
"Why should I?" Li Yifei didn’t stop but continued approaching, holding the two men. Kawamoto Goroku’s men pulled out their guns, aimed at Li Yifei, their faces tense and serious.
Why? Because I have a gun. Kawamoto Goroku wanted to shout out loud but instead said, "Quite the foolhardy one. You see, I brought so many brothers today; after I kill you, we’ll take turns with your woman. Hahaha."
The laughter had just begun when Kawamoto Goroku suddenly stopped. In his sight, Li Yifei had disappeared, only two dark shadows flew towards them, his own henchmen. The two flew over, knocking into some people. They wanted to fire but couldn’t shoot their own men, so they hurriedly caught the flying two.
Unexpectedly, the two had great impact force, instantly knocking several people down.
As for Li Yifei, he flashed in the dark, moving at extreme speed, darting into the crowd like a wolf into a flock of sheep. Not one of these miscellaneous henchmen could withstand a single move from him.
In a short time, chaos ensued as everyone near Li Yifei was sent flying. Some were lucky, flying one or two meters before falling to the ground. Others were less fortunate, kicked by Li Yifei, soaring three or four meters high, flying seven or eight meters away, landing heavily, unable to utter a sound.
Around twenty people, all sturdy and robust, were all taken care of by Li Yifei in less than a minute, kicked and smashed, leaving only Kawamoto Goroku, whose eyes were wide open, mouth agape, as if seeing a demon, unable to believe the outcome.
He had just seen only afterimages of Li Yifei coming and going rapidly in a short time, his gun barrel not even having time to aim at Li Yifei, and then all his subordinates were down.
