Chapter 70: The Tin Knight and The City of Clockwork — Act 4 (4)
The journey that the Tin Knight’s party had been through so far was so swift that it would make one involuntarily stick out their tongue in amazement if seen from the side.
The time it took for the Tin Knight to arrive in the City of Pleasure and consecutively take the heads of the Colombo Thieves’ second-in-command and leader—one day.
The time it took for Dorothea, who was ambushed, to launch a counterattack that very night, subdue Franka, and conclude a contract—one day.
The time it took for the party, angered by the arrogant guild staff, to conquer the labyrinth to its deepest part and extract the core treasures—one day.
The largest portion of the party’s journey was travel time—along with Dorothea’s catalyst preparation and Adelaide’s training that took place during it. The actual time spent facing and solving problems didn’t even amount to a tenth of the entire journey.
The reason was simple.
Both Dorothea and the Tin Knight were outstanding in terms of taking action.
However, there was some difference in the detailed direction, which could be easily compared as follows:
If there was a need to fulfill 3 out of 10 additional goals to challenge the core goal A, Dorothea was the type to rush straight to the core goal the moment it became [Achieved 3/10].
On the contrary, the Tin Knight was the type to challenge the core goal only after neatly completing [Achieved 10/10], even if it wasn’t essential.
And due to this difference in musicality, the two were engaged in a fierce debate—which from the outside looked like Dorothea’s monologue.
