Chapter 179
Ashley stood in the kitchen, sipping whiskey. Dinner was already handled—he'd pre-ordered steaks that only needed to be heated in the oven. As he waited for the simple preparation to finish, there was still no sign of Koi.
Anyone else might have been annoyed by how long it was taking to change into a single outfit, but Ashley was patient. For the pleasure to come, he could wait as long as needed. In fact, waiting was like a gourmet garnish—something that heightened anticipation.
Tap, tap, the sound of slippers dragging echoed through the space. Koi was approaching. The hesitant, slow footsteps made Ashley smile as he lifted his gaze.

They were technically denim, which helped a little with the exposed feeling, but it was still incredibly embarrassing. It was hardly better than walking around in just a white shirt.
Unable to hide his discomfort, Koi muttered with a dejected tone.
“You could’ve gotten something... longer. Was this all they had...?”
Maybe Ashley hadn’t had time to shop around. Koi didn’t even consider the possibility that it might’ve ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) been intentional. He just blamed himself—for asking a busy person like Ashley to pick up clothes in the first place.
But Ashley had no such thoughts. His eyes were still glued to Koi’s legs as he murmured,
