For a while, only the sound of their ragged breathing filled the space between them. Ashley, uncharacteristically, couldn’t hide his agitation as he looked down at Koi. Koi stayed silent. Even though Ashley had answered his own question, Koi strangely felt a bit of relief. But Ashley felt the complete opposite. Koi’s lack of denial sent him spiraling.
“You... you liked that guy, didn’t you? You must’ve. You wouldn’t have done it otherwise.”
Ashley asked himself, then voiced it aloud.
