Arthur’s lips brushed against Sylrathi’s, tasting promise and power in the brief contact. Her eyes blazed with anticipation.
"After we save her," he whispered against her mouth, his voice carrying both desire and deadly intent. "After we make them pay for every stolen life—then I’ll show you exactly what this new power can do."
Sylrathi’s breath caught, her instincts responding to the predatory confidence in his voice. "I’ll hold you to that promise, my prince."

Arthur nodded approvingly. Centuries of experience showed in every detail of her disguise.
