His silver-white fur glistened with blood—some his own, most belonging to the brave souls who dared stand against him.
Lucas stood at the frontlines, sword crackling with Zephyra's wind and Umbra's shadow. His body ached, his mana reserves dangerously low, but his spirit blazed with unwavering resolve. To his right, Kaela gritted her teeth, blood matting her tiger-striped hair as she dueled one of Whiteclaw's lieutenants. To his left, Elira was coordinating the army, darting between soldiers, loosing arrow after arrow from her spectral bow.
They had leveled up again. A massive rush of experience had surged through their veins after felling Inferna and forcing back Kong, bringing their party to level 29. Their beasts had grown in kind—Zephyra and Umbra shimmered with newfound power, Luna's form crackled with icy precision, and Thunderfang pulsed with raw lightning.
But Whiteclaw was on a different level.
The massive silverback ape general towered over the battlefield, his crimson eyes scanning the defenders of Greystone with utter contempt. Blood dripped from his claws as he leapt into the center of the field.
And then—he bared his fangs and unleashed a terrifying ability.
